The instructional program is designed to provide strong college preparation with Honors, Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and elective courses available in multiple disciplines, while at the same time developing an ability and willingness to defend the Christian faith from a Biblical worldview.
English: Successful completion of four years of study is required. Comprehensive, College Preparatory, and Honors courses are available at each grade level, as well as, AP Language and Composition for juniors and AP Literature and Composition for seniors. Students may also select an elective course such as Dual Enrollment Public Speaking, Creative Writing, and Debate.
Social Studies: Four years are required. All students must complete two years of United States History and one year of World History. Juniors may elect to take AP Us History or US History 2. Seniors may elect to take AP Government and Economics or Government/Economics. Honors level courses are offered at all levels. Electives include Geography, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, History of the Holocaust, and Financial Literacy.
Mathematics: Three years are required. A full sequence of college preparatory courses is offered. Most college bound students choose to study four years of college preparatory math. Additional mathematics courses offered are AP and Dual Enrollment Calculus, Honors and Dual enrollment Pre-Calculus, and Dual Enrollment and Honors Statistics.
Science: Three years are required; however, college bound students normally take four years of lab science. Students have the opportunity of electing Honors courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Anatomy & Physiology. AP courses are also offered in Biology. Electives include: Introduction to Medical Careers and Forensics.
World Language: Calvary Christian High School offers instruction in Spanish. There is a two year minimum graduation requirement. Students are encouraged to take Level III and IV courses in order to better prepare themselves for success in today’s rapidly changing world. AP Spanish and Honors Level courses are also offered. Electives include Intro to American Sign Language
Physical Education and Health: Four years of PE and Health are required. Students graduate with CPR certification. Electives
include Fundamentals of Coaching, fitness, Sports Leadership, and Sports Management.
Technology: Four years are required. Students take a computer class each year that they are enrolled to prepare them for success by promoting online literacy, adaptability, critical thinking, coding, and the science behind technology.
Art, Business, Music and General Courses: We offer courses like Interior Design, Architecture 101 and 102, Vocal Ensemble, Sculpture, Functional Design, Painting, Drawing, Yearbook, Introduction to Accounting, Guitar, Worship Team, Music Appreciation, Food Preparation, and Early Childhood Education.
Dual Enrollment College Courses: CCS offers dual enrollment course opportunities at the school during the regular school day. CCS faculty members, as approved adjunct professors through local colleges/universities, teach these courses as part of their regular teaching schedule. Students take the course at CCS as one of their course selections. They receive both CCS credits and college credits at the conclusion of the course. We offer Dual Enrollment Statistics, Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Public Speaking, Old and New Testament, Christian Apologetics, Life and Teachings of Christ.
