Calvary Christian School is a ministry of Calvary Chapel Old Bridge. The ministry of CCS is committed to helping parents to disciple their children in the ways of the Lord. We believe that every student is created “in the image of God” (Genesis 1:27) and that when a child receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they become a part of the family of God and need “the pure milk of the Word” (1 Peter 2:2) in order to mature spiritually. Our desire is to help them to develop and grow in the purposes and plans that God has for their lives. Therefore, a central focus of the school is to prayerfully seek the leading of God regarding the school’s mission and government.
We believe in the education of the whole student: we seek to minister to them spiritually, academically, and socially in much the same way that Jesus did when He lived among the people of His day. In each classroom, the teacher, under the leading and empowering of the Holy Spirit, is called to model the life of Christ before the students as they create a stimulating learning environment. All subject material will be integrated with Scriptural principles in order to cultivate a biblical worldview. Our desire is for students to have a love for learning that will help them to reach their God-given potential.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
Calvary Christian School is a ministry of Calvary Chapel Old Bridge. Applicants and current families are expected to adhere to the tenets outlined in Calvary Chapel Old Bridge’s Statement of Faith.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
CALVARY CHAPEL OLD BRIDGE HAS BEEN FORMED AS A FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS IN THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST.
Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only to their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.
WE BELIEVE THE ONLY TRUE BASIS OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP IS CHRIST’S AGAPE LOVE,
which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE SPIRITUAL.
Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE INSPIRATIONAL.
Therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.
WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE INTELLIGENT.
Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshipped.
WE BELIEVE WORSHIP OF GOD SHOULD BE FRUITFUL.
Therefore, we look for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshipping Him.
WE BELIEVE IN ALL THE BASIC DOCTRINES OF HISTORIC CHRISTIANITY, INCLUDING THE INERRANCY OF SCRIPTURE,
which is the belief that the Bible, Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God.
WE BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE GOD WHO IS ETERNALLY EXISTENT IN THREE DISTINCT PERSONS:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE THAT GOD IS THE PERSONAL,
transcendent, and sovereign Creator of all things.
WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST IS FULLY GOD AND FULLY HUMAN,
that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended back to the right hand of the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us. After Jesus ascended to Heaven, He poured out His Holy Spirit on the believers in Jerusalem, enabling them to fulfill His command to preach the Gospel to the entire world, an obligation shared by all believers today.
WE BELIEVE IN THE PERSONAL, VISIBLE, AND PRE-MILLENNIAL SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST TO THE EARTH.
According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return in glory to the earth with His saints and set up a kingdom of which there will be no end. The dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all people in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.
WE BELIEVE THAT ALL PEOPLE ARE, BY NATURE, SEPARATED FROM GOD AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SIN, BUT THAT SALVATION, REDEMPTION, AND FORGIVENESS ARE FREELY OFFERED TO ALL BY THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
WE BELIEVE THAT ETERNAL SALVATION IS FREE, BY GRACE ALONE, APART FROM WORKS, AND IS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO PLACE THEIR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, WHO DIED ON THE CROSS FOR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD.
When a person repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him to save, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Spirit, all his/her sins are forgiven, and that person becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.
WE BELIEVE IN THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT MENTIONED IN THE SCRIPTURES, AND THAT THEY ARE VALID FOR TODAY IF THEY ARE EXERCISED WITHIN THE SCRIPTURAL GUIDELINES.
We as believers are to covet the best gifts, seeking to exercise them in love that the whole Body of Christ might be edified. We believe that love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and without this love all exercise of spiritual gifts is worthless.
WE BELIEVE THAT MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT, DESIGNED BY GOD, BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN AS GOD BIOLOGICALLY CREATED THEM MALE AND FEMALE FROM FERTILIZATION.WE BELIEVE THAT ALL HUMAN LIFE IS SACRED AND CREATED BY GOD IN HIS IMAGE.
Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from fertilization through natural death.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to “co-labor” by coming alongside Christian parents who desire to provide a biblically centered learning environment for their children. Our objective is twofold:
- To win, train, and equip young people as disciples of Jesus Christ.
- To enable each student to reach his/her full potential spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, for the glory of God.
MEET OUR DIRECTOR
An experienced leader, Tim Hamilton has served as a pastor in the Calvary Chapel movement for over than 40 years. Known for his servant style of leadership, Mr. Hamilton works collaboratively with administrators, faculty members, school staff, and parents to build the kingdom of God into the lives of young people, our families’ most precious resource. His goal for children is for them to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, to grow in grace and in knowledge, and to make Jesus known to others through their lives, their careers, their own families, and their Christian service. He sees Christian education through the lens of discipleship: making life-long followers of Jesus who will impact their world for Christ. Tim Hamilton has served educational institutions in the roles of Head of School/Administrator, Principal, Bible College Instructor, High School Bible Teacher, Guidance Counselor, and Accreditation Coordinator. He has also served in pastoral ministry roles as Pastor, Worship Director, and Men’s Ministry Director. Tim Hamilton has been married to his wife Denise since 1978; the Hamiltons have 4 adult children and 4 lively grandchildren. |
MEET OUR PASTOR
What kind of a community do you want for your family? As you consider the educational options available today, this becomes an important question. It is important because your choice will have a direct impact not only on your family, but on your community as well.
Too many parents today aren’t considering the broader ramifications of their children’s education. They think education “just happens” in their children’s lives, and allow others to make critical decisions for them. In one sense they are correct. Children ARE always learning. In that respect they are like little sponges, absorbing everything they see and hear. But what kind of education are they “just happening” to receive? What kind of an example is modeled before their impressionable eyes? What influences are forming and shaping the way they view the world? As Christian parents these questions are essential as we seek to raise our children as unto the Lord, guarding their hearts from the moral decline all around them. However, we cannot be satisfied with the notion of simply sheltering our little ones. Even if it were possible, insulating ourselves from the world is not the answer. Instead, we need to be raising a generation of Christian leaders who will be prepared to influence their communities with the light of the Gospel. As Paul said, “that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15). However, a generation of Christian leaders who will have that kind of impact on the world will not “just happen.” If it happens at all, it will be as a result of parents, like you, who take an active role in their children's education. At CCS we are dedicated to “Education by Discipleship.” We are committed not only to providing a strong academic environment in which your children can learn and grow, but also to co-laboring with parents as they seek to raise their children to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Our highest priority will be preparing these young people to engage the world around them with the truth of the Gospel, in whatever field or profession they pursue. To borrow missionary William Carey's famous motto, our hope is that each child will be, “attempting great things for God; expecting great things from God.” I hope you will prayerfully consider CCS for your children. More importantly, I pray that as a fellowship we will continue to work together, under God’s direction, to train up the next generation of Christian leaders our communities so desperately need. Serving Him and you, Lloyd Pulley, Senior Pastor Calvary Chapel Old Bridge |
