CCS PARENTS AND STUDENTS
"CCS's re-opening this September 2020 was such an easy transition. My kids have been so happy to be back for in-person instruction and to also see friends after such a long time apart. CCS has done an amazing job of implementing and adhering to safety protocols while continuing to provide excellent academic instruction. My family is so grateful for being a part of the CCS family. My children have been very happy to attend CCS. Appreciate all the staff and teachers who invest so much into the students. To have my children in an environment where Biblical principles are taught, encouraged, and practiced is a great comfort."
-Carin Campagna, Elementary School, Middle School
"We have been so blessed for the opportunity to have our daughter attend Calvary. From the moment we came into the school, everyone was warm and welcoming. The teachers and staff are dedicated and take the time to work with each individual student's needs. They are so supportive and truly care for each child. Our daughter loves going to school and interacting with her classmates in this strong Christian environment. We are thrilled she thrives spiritually and academically. We are so grateful to have this wonderful school!"
-Elementary School Parent
"As parents we were very interested in getting our kids back into physical school for this school year. While we were nervous like everyone, we were confident from the beginning that CCS would be able to do this. We were excited to see the plans as they happened throughout the summer and the updates from the school and we were confident in our decision to send our kids. CCS has taken the safety of our children seriously and has prayerfully given them the opportunity to learn, socialize, and worship. We know that any bumps along the way will be dealt with prayerfully as we cannot ever expect everything to go as planned. We are thankful to CCS admin and staff to taking all the obstacles and making this a wonderful year so far. Our children all started CCS in pre-k and now are in high school and middle school. It is not perfect. We do not always agree with decisions. We do not always agree with teachers. My kids can sometimes make poor decisions and are surrounded by other kids who also can sometimes make poor decisions. Being in a small private Christian school does not erase those things. But our kids are being loved on and prayed for by the staff and administration. If there is a problem it can be discussed and resolved prayerfully. It is priceless to have our children at a school where we can trust what they are being taught and told. The families are close knit and we can keep an eye out for when kids make poor kid decisions. We can worship together as families and a school. And they also are getting a great education at the same time."
-Debbie Zielinski, Middle School, High School
"After watching a report that the rate of infection of student age children was roughly equivalent between students attending live school verses those virtual, it still is an encouragement the precautions CCS took to open safely. The UV filter kills airborne pathogens, and now with opposing doors being opened twice a day, the entire building gets aired out daily for 40 minutes each school day. Not to mention the plexiglassed desks, teacher circulation, and mask wearing. Very satisfied. The value of an education is found in lifelong habits. The principles inculcated at CCS are the 3rd leg on the stool a child sits on, reinforced by the other 2, home and church. Each are balanced with each other and none 'tip' the other. When all these agree, and kids get the same message from all their authority figures, it translates to godly lives, friends, marriages, homes, jobs, and that pays earthly and eternal dividends. I may be the parent of the most CCS students, 5, 4 of them graduating by the end of this year. We have seen God provide and we are glad they have gone here. We have received a good 'return' on our investment!"
-Stephanie Akselsen, High School
"I am so grateful for CCS. My children are getting full time in person education. There was much concern heading into this year and CCS has exceeded all expectations. Safety, health, and diligence have been top notch. The staff is amazing and you can see God’s covering over this amazing school. In a world filled with abnormality CCS provides a wonderful haven for my children. They are thriving! CCS education is top notch. My boys come home excited to share what they learned and experienced that day. I am so grateful my kids are learning at CCS!"
-Christina Nieves, Middle School, High School
"I had my doubts before school started because of the Pandemic placing my son at CCS. It has been a tremendous blessing just from the first day of school. I don’t have words to even express how safe I feel for everyone working at CCS and students. Communication Is more than I expected. Safety number one on their list . Academically more than I expected. No fear no worries.. my son feels confident and secure at CCS. Overjoyed and blessed. The aspect of patience, care and diligently from the staff to every single student has been an overwhelming blessing. Behavior changing in each aspect of every student."
-Karina Krautheim, High School
"It is really grateful for my kids to meet teachers and classmates in person these days, COVID 19 condition. I concerned a little about re-opening due to some safety issues before they went to school but there is nothing to worry about at CCS. The staff and teachers all together are making a safe and fun place for them. My three kids are in good hand of CCS and I trust CCS administration. CCS always give good guidance for kids with a full of curiosity towards God. I am appreciate the fact that all teachers are sincere Christians. My middle schooler is happy to realize what she loves to pour her energy at CCS. Teachers boosts kids challenge whenever they have motivation and find what they are good at and like."
-Sarah Kim, Middle School, High School
"I am so glad Calvary opened for in person learning. Calvary has done a wonderful job in keeping the students safe regarding the virus including UV light sanitizers placed in the HVAC system, desk barriers, and sanitation fogging. There has been constant communication and someone gets back to you immediately if you have any questions. Calvary Christian School is an incredible school. I believe a Christian education is more important today than it was in the past. Our daughters attended public school for two years and their behavior changed dramatically. There is a peaceful air about Calvary as soon as you walk in the door. God is in the hearts of all staff members. It is not just the words they speak. I think all teachers are wonderful but they are exceptional at Calvary. I especially like the variety of classes offered."
-Clare Guglielmo, High School
"Knowing the school year was about to start, and with so many unknowns still in our day to day lives, I was hesitant in trusting Calvary Christian School with so many different guidelines to keep our kids safe. But to trust in God in the Light is easy, trusting Him in the Dark times... that is having faith. I have now learned that CCS is one of the safest places for our children with every process carefully thought out. Our children are loving each and every school day and CCS has brought our family Light in the Darkness."
-Stacey Hernandez
"CCS has been nothing but a blessing to us. We are a new family to CCS with a Pre-K and 1st grader. Our girls are not only enjoying school they are thriving. They are learning things everyday that are rooted in God's word which helps them navigate life. Not only are they learning things to succeed in life they are also learning God's word and hiding it in their hearts. The faculty and staff have come alongside our children to help them in any and all needs they have and encourage and pray for the girls on a daily basis. To see the change in our girls in the few weeks we have been at CCS had been very encouraging."
-Nikki Koempel
"I started at CCS in 4th grade, and I felt an immediate difference going to CCS as opposed to public school. I feel loved by my teachers, and I know they care. They are there through every struggle and WANT to help. I feel like the education is important, BUT everything points straight back to Jesus. At CCS, there are fun projects, teamwork building, and discipleship activities. One of my favorite experiences this year was being in the school play. It was a unique experience and was fun as well as spreading the message of the gospel. All in all, CCS is a place where I am loved, I can love others, and we can all love God!"
-Bobby Larsen, CCS 6th Grader
"I came to Calvary Christian School as I was entering into my 8th grade year. Being homeschooled for the majority of my life, coming to Calvary was definitely a huge change for me in every aspect. CCS is truly a family, and it is one that will impact your child's life forever. I remember at the end of my freshmen year, the entire girls’ soccer team got together in one of the classrooms, and I sat there and cried because the senior girls I had come to love so dearly were leaving. I remember so well what I said that touched everyone in the room, 'Thank you for being my sisters.' This is the type of community you will find at Calvary. A place where your daughter or son will find a family that will help him or her grow spiritually and academically. CCS teaches lessons that will stick with students for years to come."
-Cayla Lloyd, CCS Senior
"The word 'welcome' best describes how we felt as a new family coming to CCS from another school setting. With my children in elementary, middle, and high school, we all can see the living testimony of God's love in this welcoming tradition throughout the school from the faculty to the staff and in the spirit of students. This welcoming environment has made the transition seamless. CCS is more than a school; it is the fellowship of Godly people who welcome and encourage each other to live their faith on a daily basis."
-Greta Whitney, Parent of CCS 9th, 8th, and 2nd Grader
"I have been attending CCS since the first grade, and I am proud to say that I have grown physically, mentally, and most importantly spiritually during my time at Calvary. Thanks to the guidance of my wonderful teachers, I have developed a strong work ethic, learned how to think things through, and have matured tremendously. The teachers here at CCS truly have the students’ best interests in mind. What other teacher would take time after school to tutor you for free, or would offer to pray for you if they see that you are struggling, or would even invite you to their wedding? If you want your child to be in an enriching atmosphere, then CCS is the school for you."
-Kristina Lincoln, CCS Junior
"'Education by Discipleship' is not just a phrase. As a student, it was so evident in the classroom because the teachers genuinely cared about me grasping the material. When Jesus lives in someone as I could see Him living in my teachers, there’s no room for that attitude of, 'Well, I’m getting paid anyway, so you students can behave however you like.' My teachers here not only prepared me and inspired me to go to college, they inspired me to actually be a teacher. I want to impact students in the way that they impacted me in the very short but powerful window of time I was with them."
-Jordan Koczman, CCS Alumnus
"I transferred to Calvary as a sophomore, and I am very happy I did. Coming to Calvary, I felt nervous and scared, along with being unhappy in leaving my friends from my old school. That all soon changed when I met new friends and wonderful teachers. They all welcomed me into this big family, and after the first week of school, it felt as though I had been at CCS all along. God brought my sister and me to Calvary to be part of this once in a lifetime experience."
-Diana Guglielmo, CCS Junior
"I have been attending CCS for seven years beginning in 5th grade, and I could spend all day talking about the things I have learned, the ways I have grown, and telling heartwarming stories of strong character and Christlikeness in teachers and students. Daniel 1 tells the story of how four 15-year-old boys were taken from their homes and sent into captivity in Babylon. Verse 8a says, 'But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king.' One reason I love and have been privileged to be brought up at CCS is that they equip you to be like those boys. The mission at CCS isn’t to teach students, throw in some biblical principles, and throw them into the world, but to educate every child by discipleship. I have learned at CCS to be like Daniel and refuse to partake in the 'food' the world offers, but to stand strong and be loyal to Christ, searching for growth in all of life’s situations."
-Kyle Respass, CCS Senior
"I feel truly blessed that I was able to attend Calvary Christian School for ten years. During my time here, I was taught the love of Christ and grew in maturity through Calvary’s goal of education by discipleship. My class was one of the largest at the time (we had 30 students), yet the school was so tightly-knit that it felt like one big family. I always felt I had the support I needed to help me succeed and become the person I am today. While I attended CCS, I participated in sports year-round, and that experience taught me to play with the primary goal of glorifying Christ. For every sport, after every game, we took the time to pray with the other team and write letters to each opposing team member. With these letters, I got to share the gospel message and tell other young girls I was praying for them. This school provided great opportunities for me to grow and love the Lord."
-Irene MacKinlay, CCS Alumnus
"Calvary Christian School has been our faithful partner for every eight years now, as we strive to raise our children to know and to love God. They have gone above and beyond the educational requirements, and have co-labored with us in overcoming so many emoitional, physical and certainly spiritual challenges with our kids. We love CCS- GO LIONS!!
-Tammy Schafer, CCS Parent
"The teachers and administration work to prepare the kids academically, but also for living a live for Jesus in a lost world. Great academics plus Jesus, you can't beat it!
-Beth Stroffolino, CCS Parent
"When I consider the school’s vision of education by discipleship, I think of being guided in truth. Every single one of our teachers has gone above and beyond to teach us more than the subject we associate them with.
